How to Choose a Pool Cage & Lanai Screen Company

What to ask before you hire someone to repair, rescreen or replace a pool enclosure or lanai screen in Southwest Florida.

A screened pool enclosure, often called a pool cage, is one of the most common features of a Southwest Florida home. Sun, salt air and storms wear screens out over time, and damage after a tropical storm is common. Here's how to choose a company for the job.

Questions to ask

Get a clear written estimate

Your estimate should list the scope (which panels or the full enclosure), materials, doors and hardware, cleanup and debris removal, timeline, payment terms and warranty. Compare at least two or three estimates for larger jobs. Be wary of large upfront payments, especially after a storm, and of anyone pressuring you to sign over insurance benefits.
